The heart of the area is Universal Studios Hollywood, a theme park that includes rides, shows, and the working film studio’s signature backlot tour. Attractions based on Harry Potter, Jurassic World, and Super Nintendo create an immersive experience for visitors. Just outside the park gates is Universal CityWalk, a vibrant open-air complex that offers dining, retail shops, a movie theater, and nightlife. CityWalk was developed in the early 1990s and expanded to become a major entertainment destination in its own right.
Though not primarily residential, Universal City is easily accessed via the Metro B Line at the Universal City/Studio City station. This makes it one of the few major L.A. attractions reachable by subway, offering convenience for those staying in the city without a car. The area also borders neighborhoods like Studio City and North Hollywood, where accommodations and local amenities are more prevalent.
